Kementerian Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia - KEMLU is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. KEMLU is a ministry in Indonesia that hold responsibility on foreign affairs of Indonesia. KEMLY was previously known as Departemen Luar Negeri (DEPLU) or the Department of Foreign Affairs. In 2008, DEPLU renamed into The Ministry of Foreign Affairs based on Law No 39 of 2008 (the new law about State Ministry of 2008). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia headed by a Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) that since 27 October 2014 chaired by Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi (Retno L.P. Marsudi). Previously Retno L.P. Marsudi is the Indonesian Ambassador to the Netherlands. She was appointed by the President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo as the Minister of Foreign Affairs to replacing Marty Natalegawa. She is the first woman to be appointed to the post.
