PT Kaltim Prima Coal - KPC is a major coal mining company in Indonesia. KPC is a key subsidiary company of PT Bumi Resources Tbk,  one of the largest natural resources group in Indonesia which focused primarily on coal mining industry. PT Bumi Resources Tbk acquired 100% stakes of PT Kaltim Prima Coal in October 2003. Based in Sangatta East Kalimantan, KPC now operates approximately 90,938 hectares of coal mining concessions in Sangatta and Bengalon of East Kutai Regency at the East Kalimantan Province. In terms of operational performance, PT Kaltim Prima Coal has shown significant performance improvements in 2013. The coal mining company was able to expand total coal production by 29.5% from41.3 million tonnes in 2012 to 53,5 million tonnes in 2013, according to PT Bumi Resources Tbk Annual Report 2013 as cited by JobsCDC.com.
