Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa - UNTIRTA or Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University is a rapid growing state university in Indonesia, based in Serang, the province of Banten. Untirta was first established in 1981 as a privately-owned university named School of Law (Indonesian : Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum - STIH). In 1984, 3 higher education institutions in Banten, namely STIH, the College of Engineering (STT) and the College of Teaching and Education Sciences (STKIP) were merged into Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. In 2001, UNTIRTA was transformed into a state university. At present, UNTIRTA hosts 6 faculties and 1 graduate school. The University offers 3 diploma programs, 21 undergraduate programs, and 3 master programs. By the end of August 2012, UNTIRTA supported by 498 civil servant lecturers and 177 civil servant administration staff.
