The Regency has an area of 688.85 km² and administratively divided into 18 districts, 208 villages and 27 urban villages. The Regency of Magetan is bordered to Ngawi regency in the north, Ponorogo and Wonogiri regencies in the south, Karanganyar Regency in the wast and Madiun city and Madiun regency in the East.
